Currently Playing #2

I finally got around to playing something new. I picked up Ghost of Tsushima and played it almost nonstop for a week straight. I tempered my expectations because the game had a lot of hype around it. Aside from Ghost of Tsushima it has been been a pretty light for me.

Ghost of Tsushima

I was blown away but how enthralled I was with this game. I enjoyed just about every side quest I was sent to do. I’m not sure how many hours I put into the game but I started it on a Friday night and beat it the following Saturday. I loved the main characters struggle throughout the game. The side quests for the other characters were also really well done. Some more than others but all of them were full of great story telling. My favorite secondary character was hands down Lady Masako. Her range of emotions throughout the game was so good. I didn’t absolutely love the game. I felt like the game was constantly on early morning or late night. It always felt too bright or too dark for me personally. I also wasnt really a fan of the stealth missions. Stealth in gaming has just never appealed to me. Those minor things aside the combat was fantastic. Killing entire camps of enemies was always satisfying. The entire main story had a great payoff at the end I thought. There are two endings but they dont differ too much. I did finish everything in the game and got the platinum trophy. This is definitely one of the best games of the year and probably one of the most engrossing games I’ve ever played.

Fall Guys

I’m still on the fence about Fall Guys. It’s very fun at first but the game is really infuriating. The physics are so bad. I know that’s by design but it’s really annoying. I played it for the first time with a friend which made it more fun. I did get my first win after maybe two hours of playing. Aside from the odd physics the game also throws you into team modes. Not only are the team games annoying but it also takes away from the game. Winning those events is basically a crap shoot because the outcome is out of your control. Personally the team modes are what ruin this game for me and make it less fun to play, especially solo. I definitely would not buy this game for $20 on steam. Free on PSN is the best way to play. The game can be fun with a group of friends in comms just talking. Trying to take this game seriously though is probably bad for your health.

Upcoming

After playing Ghost of Tsushima I want to get into a game that is a little lighter. Not so dense and definitely not very story driven. I’m leaning towards something on the Switch or maybe an easy PC game.
